NFL Super Bowl 2010 Update: Line Drops to Colts

Sports Gambling - After the Super Bowl 2010 odds were announced a day after the conference championship games the Indianapolis Colts opened at a 4 point favorite over the New Orleans Saints.

They quickly moved up to the Colts giving 5.5 points as the early money went towards Indianapolis. Now a couple of factors has dropped the odds back down to where they originally began. The Colts are now favored by 4.5 points.

The biggest factor is whether or not the Colts leader on defense, Dwight Freeney, will be able to play on Sunday.

Even if Freeney does go, which is likely because Super Bowl is push all your money in time, the question will be how effective he'll be. He has been held out of practice due to a torn ligament in his right ankle. Does an ineffective Freeney make a difference in this game or is the Saints offense so good that one player will not make a difference?

These odds staying above a field goal is key if you are taking the Saints. I always hate those spreads that land right on three points. You take the Saints plus 4.5 points and even if they are losing you get a chance for that late touchdown to cover the spread.

For you gamblers out there you know it happens all the time. A team is up by two scores in the closing minutes of the game and they go into the prevent defense. The Colts could be up by 10 points late, less than two minutes to go and loosen up their coverage to prevent the quick hitting touchdown. Saints score a touchdown by piecing together 10 - 15 yard passes and bam, you cover your bet.
