The World No. 17 advanced to his fifth Monte-Carlo quarterfinal without dropping a set, earning routine wins over qualifiers Peter Luczak and Andrey Golubev. Ferrer followed with a straight-set success against eighth seed Ivan Ljubicic on Thursday, downing the veteran 6-0, 7-6(4) in 91 minutes of play.
