Guaratinguetá with 2-W, 1-L, 2-D in the last five matches where as Vila Nova with 2-W, 3-L. In this series Guaratinguetá won the first match against Duque de Caxias with 3-1 at home, Renato Peixe scored two goals in this match.In the second match against Sport Recife, Zé Antonio scored a goal in the last minute of play to level the score 1-1.
Vila Nova poor start in the tournament, they lost first match against Portuguesa with 1-4 but in the second match played well against Icasa and managed to end the match with 1-0 win.
Odds are a bit much on the Guaratinguetá as favorite in this match
