Two World Cup contenders playing their last warm up match before heading to South Africa. New Zealand will play their opening match against Slovakia on June 15, 2010 in the Group F. Chile will play their first match against Honduras on June 16, 2020 in the Group H.
Chile won four out of last five friendly matches and lost against Mexico with 1-0. In the last match it played against Israel and won with 3-0.
New Zealand has only two wins and three losses in the last five matches. In the last match it played against another world cup qualifier Slovenia and lost with 1-3.
Head to Head: These two teams were faced twice before; Chile won in those two matches and leads with 2-0.
New Zealand coach Ricki Herbert wants to use this match make the first choice line up and at the same time they don’t get injured before the biggest event.
He told the New Zealand Herald that, "You can't go into any game trying to avoid injury''.
”If it happens, it happens. That's just luck. It's another tough game for us and a great way to finish off (our preparations).''
