The start of the NFL regular season, and training camp for that matter, is still a few months away but some teams have begun Organized Team Activities (OTA), case in point, the New York Jets.
The Jets practiced on Monday and according to ESPN, second-year QB Mark Sanchez was there too, although he only practiced lightly — he underwent surgery on his left knee in early-February.
ESPN says that Sanchez “light quarterback drills” and saw limited action in a “7-on-7 session.”
How Sanchez performs this season will go a long way in determining the New York Jets’ fortunes.
As it stands, Sanchez, newly signed RB LaDainian Tomlinson and the rest of the Jets are listed at +600 to take the AFC championship and +1200 to take the Super Bowl.
The Jets open Week 1 of the regular season as part of the Monday night double-header, hosting the Baltimore Ravens and listed as 3-point favorites in Prospective Week 1 betting.
Dating back to their days in Cleveland, Baltimore has given the New York Jets all they can handle in the last seven games, going 1-6 straight up and against the spread.
