Richard Gasquet Vs Lukas Lacko
Live Tennis: Richard Gasquet Vs Lukas Lacko Live Match
Richard Gasquet is not seeded this year in the Open de Nice Cote d’Azur, but stands out as a player capable of doing very well here. He meets world number seventy-two, Lukas Lacko, in the first round today, and will be hoping to get through with minimum fuss.
Lacko is a capable opponent, but hasn’t won a match on a clay court yet this season. In fact, Lacko is yet to put together a notable run in any tournament so far this year. He goes into this match looking for a chance to turn things around, though he’ll need to up his game to get anything from Gasquet.
Gasquet is currently ranked sixty-eighth in the world, a ranking that does not properly reflect his ability. His victory in Bourdeaux last week, where he overcame opponents such as Olivier Rochus and Michael Llodra, demonstrates this. He will want to get off to a good start tomorrow in order to maintain this form and get back into a position that will enable him to compete in Masters events.
If current form is anything to go by, Gasquet should do well today. His performance today may give us an inkling about whether or not he’s playing well enough to give the seeded players a scare, and should make enjoyable viewing.
