Defending Champion Federer won the first match against Peter Luczak in straight sets 6-4, 6-1, 6-2 very comfortably. He is playing second round match against world number seventy player Alejandro Falla and he will win this match. Federer won 16 Grand slams in his carrier and last year he won the first French Open. But this time it’s very tough to defend the title because Clay Court King Rafael Nadal is in good form. Federer won this year Australian Open against Andy Murray in straight sets 6-3, 6-4, 7-6. He lost the Mutua Madrilena Masters Madrid Open Championship to Rafael Nadal on clay court.
Falla played well in the first round however as he defeated Tipsarevic 6-1, 6-2, 6-3 in straight sets. That kind of thrashing against a tour veteran still in his prime is impressive and Falla may be able to play Federer to two close sets before losing in 3 or 4.
Federer played two times against Falla in 2004 Wimbledon and 2009 French Open and in both matches he won.
