Tenth seed Marin Cilic currently at number twelve at world rankings reached Semifinals this year Australian Open and his best performance in the Grand slam Tournaments. In the French Open he reached fourth round so far. In the first round he won against Ricardo Mello with 6-1, 3-6, 6-3, 6-1. Cilic's forward-thinking game is not at all compatible with the slower surface played at Roland Garros.
Daniel Gimeno-Traver currently at eighty six in the world rankings is played last year French Open after four years and returned in the second round. This time he wants to improve his record at Roland Garros. In t he first round he won against Russian player Dmitry Tursunov in straight sets 6-1, 6-1, 6-1.
They never played against each other in any international tournament. This is the first game where they seem to go out of their way not to play each other. Marin Cilic will win this match very easily and Odds are a bit much on the Cilic as favorite in this match.
