Ferrer looked in impressive form in his quarterfinal match against German Philipp Kohlschreiber to reach the semifinals of the 2010 Monte Carlo Rolex Masters, an ATP World Tour 1000 event, being played here in the picturesque city of Monte Carlo, Monaco.

Eleventh seed David Ferrer holds a slender 4-3 advantage in the head-to-head-series with quarterfinal challenger Philipp Kohlschreiber. The Spaniard had a losing record against the German until 2009, when he captured back-to-back, hard-court victories in Auckland and Dubai. The players have split two previous meetings on clay, with each winner taking his respective match in straight sets.

The World No. 17 advanced to his fifth Monte-Carlo quarterfinal without dropping a set, earning routine wins over qualifiers Peter Luczak and Andrey Golubev. Ferrer followed with a straight-set success against eighth seed Ivan Ljubicic on Thursday, downing the veteran 6-0, 7-6(4) in 91 minutes of play.
