Boston Bruins vs. Philadelphia Flyers NHL Odds, Picks & Previews

Boston Bruins vs. Philadelphia Flyers Picks & Previews @ Sportsbook.

We were all over the Philadelphia Flyers during their first round series against the Buffalo Sabres and cashed several tickets on the individual games as well as the series. We had initially pegged the Flyers as a team that was peaking at the right time of the season, but its starting to look more and more like they lucked into a perfect first round matchup. Despite two single goal losses in the first two games Boston just looks like they’re in control of this series.

Going against the home team in Game 3 is a good value for the simple reason that we’re going against the team in the ‘must win’ situation. In most sports with 7 game series, Game 3 is a good spot for the home team but the NHL is an exception. In this round of the NHL playoffs the team with the 2-0 lead is a 62%+ winning proposition. The Bruins have had their way with the Flyers both recently and historically. Boston has won 9 of the L14 meetings and 5 of the last 6 in Philly. Going back even further, the Bruins have won 16 of the last 26 meetings in Philadelphia. Savard’s return has been a huge boost to the Bruins offensively, and despite Brian Boucher’s solid play in the opening round he’s severely outclassed here by Boston’s Tuukka Rask.
