Having led Buffalo back to the playoffs for the first time in three years, the Sabres goaltender politely apologized for being in no mood to assess what he's accomplished this season. Winning an Olympic silver medal and a franchise-record 41 games take a back seat for Miller as he turns his attention toward Thursday, when Buffalo opens the NHL playoffs hosting Northeast Division rival Boston.
Sabres has already granted to finish regular season between top 4 teams of Eastern Conference , but secured their lead in Northeast division. So it's time to give some rest to their starters as they have a weakened roster and a shortened bench due to injuries of key players , scorers especially. Tomas Vanek and Tim Connolly has already missed a few games. Pominwille , Roy and Torres has done well enough during this period but it's quite sure that goalie Ryan Miller was the guy who helped Sabres most so far.. Tonight he's reported to be given a rest. So , Sabres will be missing 3 of 5 milestones.
The Bruins had the edge on Buffalo, winning the season series 4-2, including an overtime and shootout win. All six games were close, with four decided by a goal and the other two decided by two goals.
Bruins are yet to clinch a play-off berth, however, their chance is all up to themselves. They are leading Rangers with 1 point for the 8th spot , but also they are trailing 6th Canadiens with 2 points and 1 game in hand.. They are in such a critical position that they can either finish the regular season between top 6 teams or can be knocked out of play-offs.
