Starting pitchers are Milwaukee RHP Dave Bush and Atlanta RHP Jair Jurrjens. Dave Bush is 3-1 with a 3.37 ERA and six quality starts in his last six turns. He has not allowed more than two earned runs in his last five starts. Jurrjens allowed three runs in six innings in his final start before the break against Philadelphia, his second since coming off the disabled list June 30. Their pitching has been smacked around over the last several weeks as well but David Bush has been the exception as he has been coming on strong after a slow start. He comes in off a 4-3 victory over Pittsburgh in which he allowed just two runs over 6.1 innings. Dave bush has been solid versus Atlanta with 1-1 record in four outings with a 2.33 ERA.

Coming off an embarrassing four-game sweep by the San Francisco Giants, the Brewers turned around and swept the Pirates going into the break. The next three series could determine whether the Brewers buy or sell at the trade deadline. The Braves have won four of their last five and sit atop the National League East by four games thanks to the fourth-best team ERA in the league. They acquired shortstop Alex Gonzalez from Toronto on Wednesday, sending their shortstop, Yunel Escobar, to the Blue Jays.
